No-exam life insurance
What makes someone eligible for accelerated underwriting, how the process works, and what happens if you don't qualify.
Lots of carriers now use accelerated underwriting: if you're within certain age and amount limits, they decide based on your application, prescription history, driving records and other information—skipping the paramedical exam. Decisions can come back the same day. Each quote here tells you if an exam is needed, maybe needed, or not needed.
What it changes
No exam doesn't mean no underwriting. Your answers get verified, and a policy issued on false information can be challenged in year one or two. If the carrier's records raise questions, they might still request an exam or labs; at that moment, you choose what to do.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, applicants under about 60 seeking amounts within the carrier's accelerated range, without significant health issues and no tobacco use for a year or longer. Recent bloodwork from a doctor visit—some carriers will use it instead of an exam.
Should an exam be needed, expect a 20- to 30-minute visit from a paramedical examiner at your Cypress-area home or office—at no cost. Better exam results often mean a better rate class for healthy people, so it's not necessarily bad.
